Delivery Information

Delivery Information

We understand that live feeder insects need to arrive quickly and safely. Orders are carefully prepared and packaged with live insects in mind.

UK Delivery

We currently dispatch within the UK using tracked delivery services.

Available delivery options may include:

Royal Mail Tracked 48 – our standard tracked delivery option.
Royal Mail Tracked 24 – a faster option for customers who need their feeders sooner.

Available services and prices will be shown at checkout.

Dispatch of Live Insects

Live insects are not treated like ordinary non-perishable products. We may adjust dispatch timing when necessary to reduce the risk of an order being held in transit for an extended period.

Extreme temperatures, severe weather, postal disruption or bank holidays may occasionally affect dispatch.

If we believe conditions could significantly compromise the welfare of the live insects, dispatch may be delayed until safer conditions are available.

When Your Parcel Arrives

Please open the outer parcel as soon as possible after delivery.

Live feeder containers should not be left for extended periods inside a closed postal box, parcel locker, communal hallway or outside in direct sunlight, excessive heat or cold.

Once unpacked, please follow the relevant Care Guide for your feeder species.

Delayed Parcels

Tracked delivery times are estimates provided by the carrier and cannot always be guaranteed.

Occasional delays may occur after an order has been handed to the delivery company. Please use the tracking information provided with your order to monitor your parcel.

Problems With Live Feeders on Arrival

We take care when preparing live insects for transport.

If you believe there is a problem with your live feeders when they arrive, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery at:

spiderfooduk@gmail.com

Please include:

  • your order number;
  • a brief description of the problem;
  • clear photographs of the container and its contents;
  • photographs of the outer packaging if it appears damaged.

Please do not dispose of the culture or its contents before contacting us, as we may need photographs to assess what has happened.

Living Cultures

Please remember that feeder cultures are living products.

The number and proportion of adults, larvae and pupae may naturally change during transport. Larvae may pupate and new adults may emerge while the parcel is in transit.

This is a normal part of a developing culture and does not necessarily indicate that the product is damaged or faulty.
