PEANUT BEETLE STARTER COLONY – LIVE FEEDER INSECTS

A live, established Peanut Beetle (Ulomoides dermestoides) starter colony, supplied with approximately 40 adult beetles plus larvae at different stages of development.

Peanut beetle larvae are an excellent small live feeder for jumping spiders and many other insectivorous animals. The colony is very easy to maintain and, when kept correctly, will continue producing fresh feeder larvae.

Your starter colony may contain:

• Long, active larvae – these are the main feeder larvae and can be offered as live food.
• Shorter, curled or “embryo-shaped” larvae – these are approaching pupation and may move much less.
• Pupae – a normal part of the colony life cycle.
• Small brown beetles – newly emerged adults.
• Adult beetles – breeding stock responsible for continuously producing new larvae.

IMPORTANT: Only the larvae are intended to be used as feeder insects. Adult peanut beetles should NOT be offered as prey.

Larvae may pupate during transport, so we cannot guarantee that every larva visible when the colony is dispatched will still be in the larval stage when your order arrives.
